A look at the project

Scott and I recently returned from a few weeks in Cambodia, and while there took a day to check out the project location...

The Meas family home - a wonderfully tranquil place set amidst rice fields and sugar palms. Thank you Siphen and Mach for looking after us all so well!

This field at the back of the school will be cleared, fenced and transformed into a horticultural site for the students to learn about growing vegetables etc.

This a a view of Moy Sophea high school showing the end of one building where an environmentally themed mural will be painted.

Preparations underway

It feels like we're working around-the-clock on trip logistics at the moment - too much time at the computer...and not enough time out in the real world. But only another couple of weeks to go...and then we'll really be out there - on the ground in Cambodia visiting our contacts in Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Takeo, Kep and Kampot. I am looking foward to renewing connections with people I haven't seen for a few years, and meeting those, that others in the Gecko Trails team have made in my absence. It is amazing how all-consuming a 'little one' can be. I am definitely ready to get on the road again - with our son in tow this time! I look foward to updates and introductions from all of you, and hope to meet you before you head to Cambodia...or on your return. ~ Rachel
